I am looking to shorten the barrel on my super redhawk .44, but an curious as to how the front sight BASE is attached, is it integral or soldered or? I know how to remove the blade, but not the base. I may actually snub it up to the front of the frame(like the new Alaskan), any sugestions on mounting a new front sight to the frame?
