Prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act, firearms were not required to have serial numbers.
MANY older, inexpensive .22 rifles and shotguns had no numbers.
These guns are legal to own since there were made before the law was enacted.
The Marlin Model 60 was introduced in 1960, and last I heard was still in production.
