View Full Version : Frommer Stop problem

I have a Frommer Stop that operates well in every regard except that the hammer fails to cock after the pistol fires. This requires pulling back the hammer for each shot - fine for a Colt SAA, but not a semi-auto.

Does anyone have ideas about what I should be looking for once I begin investigating the insides of the pistol?

Benton, this could stem from wear on the sear, the hammer or the sear spring. More sear engagement is needed. Numrich has the parts as well as an exploded view in their catalogue. If you need it, e-mail me and I'll scan and send it to you. George

Since it cocks normally, I'd start with the sear spring, it may just be a bit weak.

Thanks for the advice. It's nice for an amateur to have some direction.
