Just purchased a used Browning Buck Mark and would like to clean it. I used the allen wrench that came with it to remove the site base screws but I cannot budge it. I'm afraid the previous owner may have reinstalled the side base without replacing the lock washers.
The gun is in excellent condition, apparently not used much.
PLEASE HELP. Any suggestions on how to remove the screws without bugering up the screws???

It sounds like he might have put locktite on the screws. The rear sight screw on mine comes loose all the time. Mark

Packerbacker, try touching the tip of a soldering iron or heated piece of drill rod etc to the screws for a few seconds. If they are locktited in the heat will soften it. George

George, I tried the sodering iron for a minute but to no avail.
The manual says that the lock washers must be replaced or it will be very difficult to remove the site base. I don't know if the gun was cleaned and the lock washers not replaced. The gun is very new and has no marks on it. I hate to booger the screws.
Any other suggestions? I may just have to take it to a gun smith.
