I'm refinishing my Mauser stock and need bees wax. I found bees wax ear candles at GNC, but they proved to be cloth based. Anyone know of a chain store that sell bees wax, or 100% bees wax candles? ..Thanks..

Thanks Ed.. I was hoping to find something local. Found many Internet sites selling bees wax, but even the local candle shops don't seem to have it.

For example, I thought that GNC..a chain health food store.. would have bees wax as a food supplement. I doubt that any chain carries this stuff, but figured someone out there has used bees wax for refinishing their stock. I'll probably end up order it.

You can find real bees wax at craft stores. I got some ar Joanne fabric for my bowstring.

Real hardware store.
Plumbing supply.

Toilet base gaskets......sometimes bees wax. Cheap source.

I could be wrong, but the ones I have seen lately might have been part beeswax, but they are probably too gummy for sewing.
I am not a leather crafter, but maybe if they were chilled they would be less gummy???

Got any apiaries in your area?

How about stopping at the local farm stand and finding out who's supplying their honey?

I found some at WalMart in their sewing and craft section. It's bagged in small pellets for candle making or something.
I use it to lube my minnie balls.

Toilet seat gasket worked great.
