View Full Version : Forend Wrench?

Okay, I'm thiking about buying a new stock set for my Winchester 1300. As much as I love my American Southern Cheapwood stock, I might want to put a black synthetic stock on there, and a forend to go with it.

Do I need some kind of special wrench to get the wooden forend off? If so, where can I get it?

One a special note, Winchester 1300 barrels are EXPENSIVE. Mossberg has a list price for their 18.5" cylinder barrel at seventy five dollars or so. A similar barrel for my Winchester cost me over a hundred from Cheaper than Dirt. *sigh*

NC, what works for 870s may work for you. Use a set of needlenose pliers opened up. Stick the points of the jaws in the notches and twist the thing loose.
