I have a Mossberg 500 GR with synthetic stock. The stock seems to be longer than the standard wood stock. It is most definitely too long for me without additional clothing, and I need a stock that will fit a little guy wearing heavy clothing or body armor. (Chinese SKS stocks, for instance, are about perfect for me, to give you an idea.)

I saw an ad some months ago for a new Choate thumbhole body armor stock. Since it was much shorter, and held several additional rounds, it seemed about perfect, but I have yet to see them for sale anywhere. As well, I hear the thumbhole is difficult to mount quickly.

Suggestions? I plan on moving someplace that will have inclement and often wet weather, where common sense dictates carrying heavy firepower (large dangerous game), so would much prefer a synthetic stock. Where can I get a reasonably priced youth or body armor stock that will meet my needs?

Thanks!

Hey I have a like new Outers/Ramline Cadet stock on my M500 that is too short for me. I need a standard buttstock. Wanna trade?
Check out the Cadet stock where I bought it last month: www.midsouthshooterssupply.com

Clayton, that sounds promising, if the stock is short enough.

Clayton,
I have a synthetic stock for a 500--let me know if you still need to to swap.
