Which breaching round do you use? Do you use a standoff device? Thanks.

Breacher Up!!! I went through the school about two months ago. We are ordering clayvon rounds. You can breach without a standoff device but it is not recommended. If you do I suggest wearing ballistic chaps. We blew a bunch of doors in a high school they were tearing down. Contact

Def-Tec, Hatton and Royal Arms and others offer frangible breaching loads to defeat various types of barriers. Before these became widely available members of EOD units constructed their own and before that LE 12-gauge service loads as well as birdshot was used by my team. In contemporary times we've come full circle as I've done classes instructing breaching with service loads as a field expedient for extraordinary intervention tactics.
Stand-offs are the best way to go and Royal Arms makes the best, but a trained operator can place the muzzle based on "Kentucky windage".
Ballisitic breaching is not an endeavor to be undertaken without extensive training.
