Can anyone here recommend a good smith to do a forcing cone on my 870? I am in SE PA, near Valley Forge.
Thanks team,

Black's Wing and Clay lists Allems Gun Craft in Zionsville PA. Not being that familiar with PA I do not know if that is close to you or meets your needs. Allems is a major supplier of shotguns to clays shooters.

I have no experience with them, perhaps some other TFL'er has.

Hey thanks Geoff. I was at the pistol range tonight and asked the guy who was running the store upstairs the same question and he also recommended Allems. I am not too far from there (maybe a wee bit over a half hour). I will try to get in touch with them this weekend.
Thanks again,

I'm a little tardy posting this but better late than never. ;)
I had the forcing cone of my spare 20" barrel done at Allems. It cost me 40 bucks and they did it fairly quickly.
I bolted it on and went shooting the next morning and although I did not do so well, my buddy hit everything we threw but for two bad tosses at hand trap.
The recoil seemed less but it could have been that my mount is getting better.
I will try to do a back-to-back comparison of the two barrels the next time I go out.
Bottom line - Allems did a good job at a fair price.

Thanks for the update, Mike. The cone job does some good, but it might take instruments to show it. Pattern improvement might show it better, a few shot before and after would give a great comparison...

For Future Reference...

My Gunsmith is Frank Finn from GunCraft in Folsom PA. He's in the Phone book under "GunCraft". He's done tons of work on everything I own.
