Howdy Folks,

I am trying to completely dissasemble a turkish mauser and having trouble with the front band/bayonet lug. The one piece bottom portion of the stock seeems to just have the front band driven down over the top of it. Can't seem to drive it off the other way? Get a bigger hammer or am I missing something important?

Thanks,

Doctari

Be mroe specific, please. Is this a 98K Turkish contract? Or an old Commission rifle, which is not necessarily a Mauser? Something else? I have a Mauser manual I can reference for you.

Doctari, on the underside of the stock you'll find a strip of metal that disappears under the band. This is a spring. You have to depress it while removing the band/lug. George

Thanks George,

Man that bugger was GUMMED up. I had to use a vise and a small socket to get the spring catch depressed. Then I still had to drive the band off. I had tried pushing on the catch earlier but thought it was a solid piece of metal as it wouldn't move :P

It was a 98k style turk.

Thanks for the help.
