Does anyone know of a good gunsmith in Wisconsin or northern Illinois that I can trust to re-polish a nickel Python? It has a few very fine scratches ("needles") that I'd like to see gone.

Thanks for any replies.

First and foremost, Wayne Schuett in Oostburg - if he still lives there, I've been trying to get in touch with him to little avail, but you should try to look him up. He is (was) an absolute magician as a manufacturer, smithy, and as a refinisher. He is a Colorado School of Trades graduate.

I also had some beautiful polish and bluing work done by Jack Ladwig, who should still be working for Badger Guns and Ammo in Milwaukee (maybe West Allis?) He moved to Badger when Flintrop's shut down...

Good luck

BTW, Oostburg is in Sheboygan County, a few miles south of Sheboygan...

Both smiths I mentioned are keenly aware of the delicate nature of polishing, no danger of ham-fisted overpolishing...
