View Full Version : What will you buy After the panic really cools?

Ignition Override
January 19, 2013, 04:29 AM
An AR, due to people trying to sell so many at once, as prices just go lower and lower?
Maybe a nice Czech VZ-58?

As for ammo, even new Prvi .303 'British' has gone up a good bit.

January 19, 2013, 04:31 AM
An IWI Tavor

January 19, 2013, 04:33 AM
A 1911, because I'll actually have the funds to buy one finally. And they haven't gone up in price

January 19, 2013, 05:29 AM
I've been wanting a nice AK and was about to buy one pre-panic. Now I may just keep saving and get an M1A.

January 19, 2013, 12:07 PM
I was planning an AR build but wanted to wait till after I had spent the Christmas budget to start acquiring parts. Well, I still plan to build but I refuse to pay nearly $300 for a $100 lower so I just I'll just have to wait a little longer...

January 19, 2013, 01:04 PM
Nothing, cause I ran out of money buying everything I wanted before the craziness started.

January 19, 2013, 01:22 PM
^^^this lol

January 19, 2013, 01:34 PM
Colt 6920

January 19, 2013, 02:57 PM
It is not going to slow down any time soon. BUT, the gun companies will adapt to the rediculious laws because they need to stay in business. Hopefully we will overcome this left wing socialist agenda to destory our 2nd Ammendment and get the government left out of our lives in the next election cycle.

All you Obama lovers who are gun owners were warned this would happen and you voted for this clown anyway. You get what you deserve and the rest of us are screwed by your idiotic decisions.

January 19, 2013, 03:07 PM
Another M1 carbine

January 19, 2013, 04:11 PM
Colt 6920 or BCM 14.5 or Daniel Defense 14.5 or AK or M1A or something short and sweet like a 10.5" NFA supressed 300 blackout. I need a loan. Oh yeah, mags, ammo and training. Maybe another safe. Replacement parts, stripped lowers, lpkits. I could go all day.

January 19, 2013, 04:32 PM
Ammo for a half-way reasonable price finally, and probably a free float rail system.

January 19, 2013, 05:39 PM
Maybe a used SCAR 17

January 19, 2013, 05:53 PM
5.56 ammo and a PSA upper.

January 19, 2013, 05:57 PM
If I can ever find one, DD M4v7 mid-length.

Mac Sidewinder
January 19, 2013, 06:04 PM
I was only a couple months away from having saved enough for a Colt 6920. I guess I will keep saving but that will be my first purchase. I also want a Super Redhawk .44 so it will be hard to keep the money for the Colt for so long. I imagine it will be a year at least untill the crazyness quits and prices drop.

January 19, 2013, 06:18 PM
A 12ga. shotgun for hunting and a SAA revolver because I want one. Wishing for a Colt, but will settle on a Urberti.

January 19, 2013, 06:22 PM
.50 BMG or Class III

January 19, 2013, 06:31 PM
I have a feeling even after this thing cools down.... there won't be a flood of used AR's and AK's and anything else this time. People were caught off guard and now they are seeing the blatant agenda of Obama and his like minded cronies. I have a feeling people are going to get what they can and hold on to them for insurance against future attacks on our constitution.

I have plenty of AR's, before all this started I wanted a nice AK.... a Saiga 12, and was getting ready to build an AR-10 type rifle. Those are still on my list, but who knows.

Old Grump
January 19, 2013, 06:33 PM
Something along the lines of a CZ-75 and a 16 gauge pump. My break action leaves a little to be desired when it comes to serious shooting.

January 19, 2013, 06:53 PM
Another Colt 1911 pattern pistol. Probably a Series 80, stainless, with box and manual as nice as I can find and as cheap as I can find it. Or a blue one.

January 19, 2013, 08:09 PM
A Sig 551-A1. I'm in the mood for something different.

January 19, 2013, 08:50 PM
I'd like a good, reasonably priced 1911, as I don't own a .45 right now. Maybe a Springfield Armory GI or Mil Spec. There was an incredibly big gun show here today, and prices on all 'black rifles' and standard capacity magazines reminded me of the Clinton years.

Nine the Ranger
January 19, 2013, 08:53 PM
If the funds were there I'd like an M1A, maybe a S&W M&P-10 when they're on the market.

January 19, 2013, 09:13 PM
A marlin 336 30-30

January 19, 2013, 09:32 PM
I'm not so sure I'll ever be able to get what I want again. The chances seem slim to me.

Next to buy asap:

ammo, specifically another bulk 5.56mm purchase, and a pile of .22

January 20, 2013, 05:05 AM
SA58 and a 1911 from ruger.

January 20, 2013, 08:03 AM
I would love to find a Dragonov. If not, I am thinking about an SKS.

January 20, 2013, 08:18 AM
In Canada right now there are still plenty of AR's around just no BCG's or Pmags.
I'll get a BCG for my newly purchased Noveske lower and a nice AR-10 maybe an LMT LM308MWSF or DPMS SASS.

January 20, 2013, 11:02 AM
6.8 spc upper!

January 20, 2013, 12:21 PM
"I would love to find a Dragonov. If not, I am thinking about an SKS."

I'd love to spend $11,500 on a rifle, if not $350 should be fine. :p

January 20, 2013, 02:29 PM
I'd like to get a Ruger SR-22. I have enough centerfire's to reload for, 4 of'em. The 22 would be fun to just blast away with.

I already have a 22/45.....its nice, but I like the look of the SR-22.

January 20, 2013, 03:27 PM
Some #1 buckshot. I have enough 00 for any and all social occasions which might arise, but would like some of that Federal in #1 with the FliteControl wad.

January 20, 2013, 03:41 PM
Lever carbine in .357mag

January 20, 2013, 03:49 PM
Probably a Bersa thunder .380 for my girlfriend and some more ammo.

ETA: Oops....I just saw this is in the rifle forum. Doh!

January 20, 2013, 03:50 PM
A new Springfield M1A Standard and Barrett 99 .50 (in that order)

January 20, 2013, 07:02 PM
The new Colt 20" AR-15A4 (M16A4 clone), I've always had a thing for the 20" rifles. Also, a Colt 6944 14.5" upper for my SBR, and some more ammo, I haven't been shooting in weeks because I can't buy any more ammo.

January 20, 2013, 07:36 PM
AR in 6.8 spc with tons of brass in 5.56 and 6.8

Arizona Fusilier
January 20, 2013, 08:14 PM
I don't "need" anything, but was thinking about an AR upper in 5.45 x 39.

That and more ammo of the same.

Corrections Cop
January 21, 2013, 10:04 AM
AR in 5.56, or a Ruger Gunsite Scout, or a 30/30 or a semi auto 12 ga shotgun. What ever thay havent banned yet.

January 21, 2013, 10:08 AM
I really don't feel any burning need for anything right now.

What I need to do is to rent a small bulldozer, extend my pond and use the spoil to build a berm.

January 21, 2013, 12:26 PM
Been looking at the Smith and Wesson 617 22lr with 6" barrel.

January 21, 2013, 01:10 PM
I would certainly like to finish my 2nd AR. I have a lower put together and waiting in the safe for when the insanity is over.

Dr Big Bird PhD
January 21, 2013, 01:26 PM
-Another 1k of 5.56 or .223. Depends on whats cheapest and most available and NOT steel cased. Well I might try out silver bear, but not for bulk.

-6.8 upper for my AR for possible hunting. Most likely bison armory.
-91/30 mosin nagant. It depends if I have enough money to invest in another long gun. Cali's long gun registration starts in 2014 and I will no longer be buying LGs when that happens.

January 21, 2013, 02:59 PM
Been wanting to get a Ruger mini-14.

January 21, 2013, 10:47 PM
HK 91

January 22, 2013, 12:39 AM
A good quality AR15 has suddenly jumped to the very top of the list. A PSA, or maybe even a Colt. Half a dozen magazines to start, and a case or two of ammo to start.

If I end up going to the range more often, maybe a .22 or 9mm upper with a similar supply of magazines and ammo.

A couple of stripped lowers.

And maybe an AK. Depends on the budget after all that.

January 22, 2013, 01:13 AM
Another vote for the Tavor. By the time the dust settles and I could actually get my hands on one, I probably will have just learned to live without it.

I would settle for a nice used Marlin 336 in .35 Rem., though. They are priced outrageously here because of a rumor Marlin discontinued them. A junker now runs $450 - quite a feat for a caliber so un-popular Marlin may have canned it. You can't tell me there aren't literally millions of those things in existence, so the price-jacking is just stupid. I've walked away from 3 so far and am adamant that sanity will one day return to the marketplace.

Mr. Whimsy
January 22, 2013, 01:20 AM
Also, is the sky really falling? I ask because this isn't just a run on high-cap clips or semi-auto rifles... I can't even find a freakin' revolver, let alone any reloading components in stock. What the heck, people are snapping up EVERYTHING indiscriminately. Despite the fact this legislation will NEVER be passed by Congress. At some point, it just seems like fear-mongering is being promoted.

January 22, 2013, 05:22 PM
I will buy a few cans of Liberal repellent.

January 22, 2013, 07:31 PM
As much ammo as I can afford.......especially 12ga target loads and .22LR. I shoot those the most and can't find any!

January 23, 2013, 10:59 AM
i will be buying ammunition...i need to feed my ar, 12 gauge and 9mm...but with the price gouging going on i dont want to bite just yet...but if i see even a remote deal for some 5.56 im gonna buy it....just wont pay through the roof for it

January 23, 2013, 11:25 AM
An IWI Tavor

You and me both...and the 9MM conversion kit....and maybe a Colt 6720 for my wife.

January 23, 2013, 11:36 AM
I want the 5.45 conversion kit also.

January 23, 2013, 11:51 AM
Guess if it is not that much $$$$ it cannot hurt to have.

Kind of nice to have the option of shooting three cheap (normally) available calibers. I always wanted a 9MM AR but I will settle for the Tavor ;)

January 23, 2013, 12:25 PM
I've always wanted a Mini-14 but always put it off (usually for some pistol). The Mini-14 is going to the top of the list ... but only for a fair price. I have enough that I won't pay more than things are worth ... I'll just go without and be happy with what I have.

January 23, 2013, 01:03 PM
A basic 30rd AR...something along the lines of the SW M&P 15 sport. For some reason this wasn't really high on my list when the were affordable.

Also on the want list is a Glock 26 and a .357.

January 23, 2013, 01:53 PM
The M&P 15 sports are GREAT guns for the price. My brother in law got his two days before this insanity began. Great little shooter.

Closing The Gap
January 23, 2013, 01:54 PM
A Colt 6920 or three, a Benelli Supernova and a Remington 700 in .308. Although I may not have to wait on the last one.

January 23, 2013, 02:03 PM
sadly nothing, I made a solemn vow that since my collection trippled in size in 012 that I would not buy a single gun in 2013 unless my financial situation really changes directions.

January 23, 2013, 05:11 PM
mags and primers:cool:

January 23, 2013, 05:18 PM
Teetering between a Beretta PX4 Storm or a 92FS.

January 23, 2013, 07:28 PM
Really liking my PX4.... :)

January 23, 2013, 08:22 PM
Been wanting at a M1A for a long time. But every time a end up looking at how many M1 Garands I could buy for the price of one M1A.

January 23, 2013, 09:39 PM

January 23, 2013, 09:47 PM
A Browning Hi-Power Standard. Not that I couldn't find one now (the local Marine Exchange still had one the last time I looked), but I'd have a hard time finding ammo for it locally. I can't even find 9mm dies for a non-ridiculous price right now.

Once I can get 9mm dies and build up my stock of small pistol primers, the Browning won't be far behind.

January 24, 2013, 07:17 AM
Really liking my PX4.... :)

Is the PX4 all they say it is? I'm really curious to try that rotating barrel.

January 24, 2013, 07:54 AM
I can't really say if the barrel is "all that", but from a recoil perspective I don't notice much difference between the .40 Berretta and the 9mm XdM. To me the biggest upside is how it feels in hand. It's a much more comfortable grip than the Sprinfields I have, not that they are bad, it's just the Berretta almost feels custom made for my hand.

The DA first shot seems a bit long, maybe just a tad stiff, but it's very smooth with no "gritty" feel to it. Follow up SA shots are short and crisp. Breakdown is similar to a glock, but for some reason a lot easier to pull off.

Plus it's purdy.... :). I got the full size Inox version and bought it used out of my favorite LGS. As far as I could tell I don't think it had ever had a round through it and I picked it up complete as from the factory for $400. Figured that was a decent enough deal, pre-Madness of course.

I'd do it again, for whatever that's worth.

Lots of doo dads, M1A mag pouches, Natl match M1A spring guide, Natl match piston, recoil buffer, SEI Coast Guard Compensator, XS Products 50 rd M1A drum, over the side scop mount for AK74, vortex SPARC.

Might try to get rid of this Herters .308 and replace it with brass. Just learned what a bimetal jacket does to your barrel and I don't like it. Probably another tuna can of 5.45x39, some .40 and .45

Reloading starter kit of some make.

January 24, 2013, 11:08 AM
I'll probably buy a few 20 rnd mags, some reloading supplies (primers, powder and bullets) maybe pick up some empty brass somewhere.

January 24, 2013, 02:20 PM
I'd do it again, for whatever that's worth.

That's worth a lot.

January 24, 2013, 02:36 PM
I'd like to finally get an AR and maybe a .45 combat style semi auto. I am hesitant to get too many more different calibers because then I'll feel the need stockpile for them.

Oh, and about 10 cases of this:

I will buy a few cans of Liberal repellent.

January 24, 2013, 04:27 PM
Maybe an IWI Tavor as well or the Beretta ARX. This all depends on how things go with the bills that are being proposed by Swinestine and the others.

January 24, 2013, 05:16 PM
When the insanity cools, I may buy another stripped lower. I enjoy assembling them.

January 25, 2013, 06:19 PM
The 3 P's, primers, powder and projectiles...

January 27, 2013, 06:56 PM
Fortunately I bought most of what I needed before this whole mess started, but I'm still in the market for an 03 Springfield and a high end Kimber 1911. And one can never have enough primers, powder, bullets, or ammo.

January 27, 2013, 10:12 PM
Like Black Sheep said, primers, powder and projectiles, specifically 75gr .224 bullets. Brass, too, if it hasn't completely evaporated afterwords.

Oh, and .45 ACP to feed the 1911.

January 27, 2013, 10:42 PM
I'd love to get a decent double stack 9mm 1911 pattern. I know it's against the grain for 1911 lovers, but it's what I want.

I actually want to get into reloading before I get my 1911. I've been thinking about it for a while but just haven't had the $$$. I probably should have bought a set up instead of my 92fs. But, I wanted the 92 for longer.

January 28, 2013, 12:07 AM
When the insanity cools, I may buy another stripped lower. I enjoy assembling them.

I've never assembled my own before, but I am definitely thinking about buying a few stripped lowers and saving them for times like these. I would eventually build them all into something, but the past 4 years have taught me that you can't count on steady prices and supply.

January 28, 2013, 01:51 AM
I am saving for Glock 22. I just like the 40 S&W. Plus I can use it when I get back on the reserve S.O.

January 28, 2013, 02:26 AM
A nice 6.8 upper,trigger set,loading supplys

January 28, 2013, 02:37 AM
I have always wanted an Arsenal AK-74 5.45x39.

If 55gr FMJ comes back down to semi-reasonable prices, I'd love to take a good carbine class. Time will tell, I suppose.

January 28, 2013, 11:45 PM
Reloading components especially primers and powder.

January 29, 2013, 10:28 AM
I don't have the money to buy lots during a panic or afterward. I basically get the same stuff. One gun every two years or so, more often if I sell another gun I already had, about 150-250 rounds of carry ammo a year, maybe 1k rounds of practice ammo. New holsters for any new handgun I get.

And that about taps me out for money.

So the panic doesn't change my buying habits much, just means I have to get a little less of the same or go longer between buying ammo based on availability.

January 29, 2013, 10:40 AM
Is the PX4 all they say it is? I'm really curious to try that rotating barrel.
In a word, yes. My brother in law just bought one a couple months back so I finally got to try a 9mm PX4. Three key take aways:

1) These things shoot nice, really nice. Even smoother than the 92FS.
2) I still like the 92FS way better and the slightly longer barrel helps accuracy (sights further apart).
3) Side by side against the Cougar (also a rotating barrel but older design ... the PX4 replaced it) the PX4 shoots quite a bit nicer. I still like the aluminum frame of the Cougar though and the grip on the Cougar has been what I call perfect. Think I still like the Cougar a little better overall but the PX4 is the nicer shooter.

I think I'll be picking one up some day (maybe in the .40)

January 29, 2013, 02:07 PM
The 3 p's Powder, Primers and Projectiles

I've also been debating a bullet swaging setup to make jacketed bullets from .22 rimfire cases. In light of the current shortages the buy side of the debate is pulling further ahead

January 31, 2013, 08:07 PM
I would like to find a Ruger Stainless 10/22 for my son and a Ruger Charger for myself. I would also like to finish an AR build I started to piece together for the last few years...and to find some small pistol primers.

January 31, 2013, 11:49 PM
M1 Carbine and lots of mags and ammo for it...

February 1, 2013, 12:00 AM
M14/M1A receiver and parts kit

February 1, 2013, 09:36 AM
I hope things get back to normal soon. I have a Springfield Loaded M1911-A1 9mm on order from Buds. I am trying to find a Ruger M7722. I need to restock my 22LR and want to buy about 4 more 20 round mags for the M1a and LR308.

I would not mind getting another few 20 round mags for the Bushie.

February 1, 2013, 04:32 PM
A stainless bolt action Tikka 7mm-08, a Whiskey 3 chassis (http://www.kineticresearchgroup.com/products/w3c.php) to put it on, and a whole bunch of mags.

February 1, 2013, 06:25 PM
Well reloading components are at the top of the list. Next in line is some more mags for my .30 Carbine. I have one extra ProMag that is pure garbage. It makes my otherwise total reliable rifle into a jam o mattic.

Also on the long list is to buy an AR that someone paid way too much for shortly before the shelves went bare. That is now broke, and needs rent, and gas money. I will offer them a bit more than what a pawn shop would.

February 3, 2013, 07:18 PM
Another stripped lower for a pistol build.

February 3, 2013, 08:02 PM

February 3, 2013, 08:33 PM
AMMO! And components.

February 3, 2013, 08:56 PM
10,000 primers and brass.

February 5, 2013, 07:14 PM
my goal for this year was going to be a Mini-14 and a S&W E-Series 1911. Then the craziness started and both of those disappeared. So once they come available again at a reasonable price I am going to pick up one.

February 6, 2013, 01:09 AM
Springfield M1A Scout

February 6, 2013, 11:05 AM
The "Panic" sure has made it interesting trying to find and purchase items before they are out of stock. If not for the high prices and possible legislation I would almost call it fun. It is a challenge finding guns, ammo and accesories but I get a feeling of accomplishment when I score something I've been hunting for.

February 6, 2013, 12:47 PM
30 rd mags and some freakin ammo!

February 6, 2013, 01:12 PM

February 7, 2013, 03:55 PM
Im gunna keep it simple. Marlin Model 60. Had one when I was a kid. Now Im just an older kid.;)

February 7, 2013, 04:07 PM
I'll probably build up another AR using one of the 3 sets up stripped upper/lower combos I have for my son for a graduation present.

Thinking about a couple nice airguns and stocking up a whole lotta .30 cal projectiles. They went real fast. All set on the other calibers though.

Might start building those woodless danes (Garands) I got from the CMP a few years back.

I am sure more projects will come to mind. :)

February 7, 2013, 07:41 PM
A nice .22 s&w revolver and a 9, 45 , or other caliber carbine. Get much more reloading componets- brass, bullets, primers.

February 7, 2013, 11:01 PM
Do a build to my exact specs. I figure once the time comes i can walk into a store and get a Pmag for an Andrew Jackson or less i can start it. No point in having a rifle with all the magazines on backorder right?

February 7, 2013, 11:22 PM
Kel-tec sub2k, that was going to be my gun of the year, but 150% inflation in price makes me want to put that on hold.

Might spend a bonus check on ar-15 receivers. Have no plans on owning or shooting an ar-15 but when the crazy-buying's over and I can get some for cheep I can hold them as an investment for the next panic.

I'll also continue my "everytime I stop at meijer/wall mart pick up a box of ammo" plan that I started about a month before sandyhook. damn shame that all the ammo I bought then was for the 12 gauge, and that's about all that's left now.

February 7, 2013, 11:31 PM
I want to build a reproduction, as near I can legally, of what I carried in the Army.

Colt LE6920, ACOG, a couple of PMAGs(I gave all mine to my sister's then boyfriend before he deployed), and I'm debating whether or not to get one of those Cobray 37mm flare launchers to stand in for the -203 I had slung underneath my carbine.

Also, I would like a Beretta 92FS.

In my mind's eye, I like to imagine my library in about sixty years, lined with my books and those displayed along with maybe my helmet serving as nice props in stories to bore the hell out of my hopeful grandkids/grandnieces/nephews. :D

February 7, 2013, 11:31 PM
Hopefully whatever I want

February 8, 2013, 02:11 PM

I have weapons in all of the calibers I like. So I will be purchasing ammo for all of them and the weapons can come in the future. Just my opinion.

February 8, 2013, 07:48 PM
FN SCAR 17S looks pretty good. My local gun shop had one, but it was insanely overpriced, so I couldn't even consider touching it.

February 8, 2013, 08:20 PM
I am thinking bigger picture-

Like a used gun store. I will buy back all the stuff people bought at cut prices because their credit card bills are stacking up, everything will be next to new and very lightly used because most of the people that bought all this stuff now cant get ammo to put through it....

Oh and some primers... lots and lots of primers:D

February 9, 2013, 06:13 PM
HK USC 45 carbine

February 9, 2013, 11:00 PM
Like a used gun store. I will buy back all the stuff people bought at cut prices because their credit card bills are stacking up, everything will be next to new and very lightly used because most of the people that bought all this stuff now cant get ammo to put through it....

Not only will they be very lightly used because of ammo shortages, but I would say close to half the people who bought AR's or even any gun for that matter in the past few months aren't even gun people. I cant even tell you the number of people I know who bought a gun in the past month or two who have not shot it yet, or probably never will. My cousin who just bought an AR for a ridiculous price has been sitting on a Sig 229 for 2 years that he shot once, and that was only because I took him to the range so I could shoot it.

February 10, 2013, 10:48 AM
I have been wanting to pick up a nice left handed varminter in an AR platform. So far the Stag 6L Super Varminter has been one that I have been looking at. There is no hurry on my part to find something. I may even find something that turns my head while I am waiting.

February 10, 2013, 04:49 PM
A sig 556 swat, because some dick stole mine out if my house.

"All you Obama lovers who are gun owners were warned this would happen and you voted for this clown anyway. You get what you deserve and the rest of us are screwed by your idiotic decisions." This is rather moot your god oh Mitt DID sign gun CONTROL in Mass. HE signed a permanent state ban on assault weapons, saying at the signing ceremony for the new law, "Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts. The date was July 1 2004. While Obama is try, Mitt DID.

I'd like a Galil. A real one not that Golani crap.

February 10, 2013, 07:29 PM
I'd like to find a 617 S&W 22 in a 4" barrel. Right now it seems like I'm asking for a lot as I can't find one anywhere. But I have lots of nice guns so can wait.

February 10, 2013, 08:39 PM
I plan to stock up on components for reloading, enough to last at least 2 years.
I'm also thinking of a new 9mm carbine of sorts since I traded my HiPoint 995. I've still got some research to do yet on make and model.

February 10, 2013, 09:25 PM
Ammo for now then get into reloading.

At THR on General Gun Discussions, there is a topic where a number of ARs (many in .223) are now seen in stores.
The insanely high prices will probably keep them on the shelves until managers need the space.

At the Nashville show on Saturday, I handled a very nice, all-matching laminated Russian SKS (star with year on cover) listed at $500.

8-lb. jugs of 3031 gunpowder were listed at about $185.
This was at 1:30, so maybe it will not sell at this price.

February 10, 2013, 10:22 PM
Definitely a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 Glock version. Maybe a couple SKS's, and of course, a bunch of ammo for them!

February 11, 2013, 08:18 PM
I stopped in Bass Pro in Cincinnati Ohio today on my way home. Not only didn't they have any AR's on the shelf. Reloading supplies were slim pickens too. It looks like this is going to go on for a while.

February 11, 2013, 10:55 PM
Reloading supplies. Browning X-Bolt Hunter synthetic in .308 or 30-06. And the new Vortex 3x magnifier on my VTAC behind my Eotech.

February 12, 2013, 12:41 AM
We have a LGS that has gotten 8 AR's in since Saturday. They also have some 5.56 at 12 a box of 50. They post what they are getting on Facebook and it is first come first served. I'm not sure I'm allowed to plug the shop name in the open forum but there are not that many LGS in Ft Walton Beach...

Armslist.com has a guy in Pensacola selling 5.56 at a buck a round. I dropped him a line about the LGS prices. He didn't respond...

Everyone please keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times, the ride is going to end at some point!

February 12, 2013, 01:25 AM
I want a second 1911, this time with a rail..... My buddy bought a P220 but I still think the 1911 is just a more comfortable pistol....

February 12, 2013, 02:22 AM
enough reloading components to last, set of .223 dies, laser range finder, Dillon 1050, 50BMG upper(If I wasn't in Califailure)

February 12, 2013, 08:54 AM
Hoping for a Glock 17 and Glock 21(Gen 4)

I'd also like to stock up reloading supplies as well

February 12, 2013, 09:59 AM
A RIA hi-cap .45 or a AR of some sort.

February 12, 2013, 08:46 PM
Probably stock up on both ammo & reloading supplies.

I'm trying to convince myself that I'm happy with the guns I got and that I don't need any more.

Tom Servo
February 12, 2013, 10:27 PM
I just got one of the Ruger Takedown rifles, and I realized I don't have all that much .22 floating around at home.

I mean, why bother stockpiling? There's tons of it out there! It's cheap and easy to get, and...

Oh, my stars and garters.

When this blows over, I'm establishing a supply minimum of 5,000 rounds.

February 14, 2013, 02:49 PM
Reloading supplies, AR stock kit, 22 conversion kit/dedicated 22 upper, AR 5.56 upper(basically finish building my AR.:D). Try and find a Mecgar mag for my P220.

February 17, 2013, 12:49 AM
will make my point to

a) buy products of companies that were standing up the hysterical and intellectually dishonest legislators
(that is olympic arms, magpull, hi-point, may be even ruger... have to research more)

b) will buy reloading supplies/ammo from companies that did not jack up the prices to obscene (for example will not buy from cheaper-than-dirt -- due to their 75/90 bucks per AR mag)

March 8, 2013, 03:57 PM
Defiantly a Quality AR Platform Rifle, S&W or Colt.

A Kel-tec sub 2000 in 9mm or a Hi-Point carbine in 9mm.

March 8, 2013, 06:51 PM
Depending on a number of things, I think I may have to pay ransom to liberate a Tavor from the LGS's awful clutches...

March 8, 2013, 07:22 PM
10k rounds of every popular caliber and all the brass I can get my hands on.

March 8, 2013, 09:22 PM
I want to pick up one or two 10 round AR-15 mags. Ironic I know, but I can't find any in the stores.

I want to pick up a Hornady Single Stage press or kit to go with my Ammo Plant for my .300 RUM.

As for firearms, a 22LR 1911 pattern, a 1911 with rail, probably colt, so I'll have 1911 with and without, an an M9 as I'd like to pick up a 9mm, and a Browning 725 Sprorting, Adjustable w/32 inch barrels.

The recent plan was to visit, for the first time just for the variety/enjoyment, a really large gun show such as Dallas Market Hall,
or Tulsa's Wanamaker's.

But having already resolved two years ago to acquire a second Garand 'in the near future' from the CMP (though having 1,100 rds. of M2 Ball-
very slowly used), would you buy a second S. Grade Garand in the next two months, or spend about $600, just on extra M2 Ball ammo?
I can afford an extra rifle and $300 more ammo as it is.

Will their S. Grade rifle prices (I don't care whether SA, Win. or H&R) remain more stable than their M2 ammo over the next year, or vice versa?
I'm not a competitive shooter and tire of bench 'meditations', but the solid, very accurate functions with these nice aperture sights and history are irresistable.

Tom Servo: You mean 5,000 rds. of .22LR:cool:? It certainly should not cost much-months from now.

March 9, 2013, 05:41 PM
Back in January I said "Maybe a used SCAR 17", but I've scratched
that idea because I want some quality NV gear instead :)

March 9, 2013, 08:12 PM
I would just like to get a couple hundred rounds of CCI Mini Mags. Is that too much to ask?

March 9, 2013, 08:23 PM
I would just like to get a couple hundred rounds of CCI Mini Mags. Is that too much to ask?

No kidding. I'm not out of Mini-Mags yet, but I really wish I had picked up one of those $95 1600-round bulk packs when Wally World still had them.

I did go in there when they had 325-round packs of Federal Automatch for $15 each, so I'm actually doing okay on .22lr overall - just not on Mini-Mags.

March 10, 2013, 01:46 AM
FN SCAR, H&K USC, Springfield M1A, M1 Garand, Ruger Mini 30, another 1911, more ammo and an AR to see why people make a big deal out of them.

March 10, 2013, 03:04 AM
I want to pick up one or two 10 round AR-15 mags. Ironic I know, but I can't find any in the stores.

Heh, depending on where you live, these may be the only ones you'll be able to find...after the panic subsides.

March 12, 2013, 07:52 AM
I changed my mind, first thing I am buying is an XDM45 but I WILL NOT PAY $1000.00 gun broker prices for one. INSANE!

March 12, 2013, 10:09 AM
I would like to buy an AR15, preferably one from Windham Weaponry. Not at todays crazy prices. I will wait.

March 12, 2013, 11:17 AM
Going to 4 boxes a week. Like my dad has done since WWII;)

March 12, 2013, 07:29 PM
A large bottle of Crown Royal.

March 13, 2013, 02:44 AM
An AR upper to mate with my lower and some reloading supplies.

March 13, 2013, 09:42 AM
I'll replenish my depleted 7.62X51 and .40 S&W ammo stock. I stopped buying when the prices went way up so I'm below normal levels although I have enough to last me for a long time. As times get harder I'm also planning to increase the amount I keep on hand.

March 13, 2013, 10:15 AM
Ammo is getting to be the tough buy around here. .22 and .223/5.56 have been tough from the get-go but till the past week or so 9mm and .45 have been easy to get though on the expensive side. .40 is still all over the shelves.

EBRs and mags otoh are filling up again. My closest LGS has rifles out the ears now, at fairly back to normal prices, and mags of all kind and mfgrs. Magpul, Thermold, Troy, Lancer, etc. Prices on the Magpuls are down to $30 now with no limit, from a high of $50 with a 2 mag limit.

Hopefully sanity is beginning to return.

March 14, 2013, 01:40 PM
Hopefully by then some Tavors have hit the market and a few early buyers will have a chance to shake them out.
If those are good to go I'll have one of them.
If not then I will finally add an AUG to my collection.

March 14, 2013, 05:32 PM
At least 100 rounds of .40S&W JHP, a 20 round MecGar mag for my Beretta 92fs, and a few more Ruger factory 20 round magazines for my Mini-30.

Oh and a couple more BX-25 Ruger 10/22 mags if they go back down to $30 instead of being $99 if you can even find them right now.

The Tavor is a slick weapon! Made by IWI which manufactures my IWI/Magnum Research Baby Eagle II .40S&W I just purchased. I spent over a week hunting one down.

April 9, 2013, 04:22 PM
I might pick up another AR or maybe just grab a 30 30 deer rifle. Not very exciting but it seems like despite the focus on "assault" weapons or whatever they want to call them, all guns have inflated in price. I'm just waiting. Don't need anything but eyes are always open for a new addition.
Honestly I'm looking forward to more ammo availability at a cheaper price than any gun picks.

Magnumwill's got the right idea.

April 10, 2013, 07:29 PM
A complete 308 upper for my pof to finish the complete pof lower that i bought back in november!

'Bout a week ago the chariot took me down Hwy 45, the ancient Roman road via Tupelo and West Point MS into AL.

In the pawn shop on the south end of West Point, I counted five ARs/M4 clones in .223 (listed up to $1,000) and an AK-74 ($800) with folding stock.
They were all there Friday and still stood there in a lonely group on Monday PM with nobody else looking at them. So forlorn for such 'hot' items.
Reminded me of nice dogs and cats at the local Humane Society.:(

Apparently popular rifles' availability will spread much sooner than many types of ammo.
They had bottles of H 4895 powder at Pre-panic prices:), one per customer (per visit, or day?).

April 13, 2013, 11:18 AM
Probably just ammo and/or reloading components.
No more guns for me, I have been reducing in that category with a mind reducing to just a couple of calibers.

April 13, 2013, 12:45 PM
Ammo, Ammo, and more Ammo! Then start getting into reloading..

April 13, 2013, 05:48 PM
Reloading stuff, parts for my M1A, AKARS mount for my AK and a some type of dot sight (Vortex probably) for it, magnifier for my EOTech

April 13, 2013, 05:50 PM
Primers & primers & primers & bricks of .22 LR!

April 13, 2013, 05:53 PM
Firearm prices may come down a bit
but our everyday ammo will not IMHO.
It seems no one can get enuff.
Maybe the next admistration with reduce
our fears of gun control,if we have any guns left,
we can legally use.

April 13, 2013, 06:02 PM
I doubt prices are going to come down

A BCG for my new PSA upper. Until then I'll have to be happy with my CMMG conversion kit.

April 13, 2013, 10:25 PM
Ammo, just ammo.

April 13, 2013, 10:28 PM
Reloading components

22lr ammo (10k rounds)

SBR'ed AR15

6 more 30 round AR mags

4 more 20 round AR mags

Maybe a suppressor pending how long of a break we get between panics.

April 14, 2013, 07:25 PM
1000rds of 5.56 ammo,1000rds of 7.62x39, and maybe 6 more Airtronics or Checkmate Beretta 15rnd mags.

April 16, 2013, 10:17 AM
Well, I found a DPMS lower for MSRP at my LGS and when it was still there the next day I picked it up. After I got home, I found PSA had a blemished lower in stock for $90 less than what I paid for the DPMS. Did I succumb to the madness? Regardless, I have finally started the build I planned back in November!

April 20, 2013, 09:27 AM
I want a mini 14 (customized barrel, bedding, and trigger) and plenty of mags! :D

April 21, 2013, 04:58 PM
I'll buy some 22 ammo so I can shoot my new Kidd Supergrade.:p
