I gots myself around $500 ready to be spent on a good quality, multi-use, optic. I am leaning heavily toward the Burris MTAC 1-4x, it is good quality and can be used from 0-600 yards, I doubt a four power will do me any good at 600 yards, but that's what's advertised. There are, of course, other great options. So what do y'all think I should do? Aimpoint, EOtech, used Trijicon, Millet, duck-taped binoculars?
It will be mounted onto a 20" AR-15 using M855.
Thanks!

A 1-4X is about perfect for an AR. I prefer the Leupold, but any good one will work.

I'd put the Vortex Viper PST on your list of candidates as well.

If your object is to create a SD/HD rifle and felon size targets, or some type of "3-gun) carbine. the low x scopes discussed would seem ideal. The Leupold AR 1.5-4x and the HiLux Leatherwood DMR (less expensive but its getting fair press) are other options.
If you see the rifle as all arounder for varmints and SD, I might go with more x-power like the 3-9 AR.

I just bought a Vortex Viper 6.6-20X50 PA with mil dot reticles that is a super scope with a lifetime warranty! It's glass is as clear or clearer than my Leupold. It however might be more scope than what you are looking for.
