View Full Version : M1 30 Carbine sight question

I'm consistently shooting a group left of the Bull on the target. I noticed that the rear sight can be shifted to the left and to the right, by tapping it with a flat tool and hammer lightly. (Please see attached picture of the rear sight) If I tap it more to the right, will it shoot more to the right ?? or do I need to move it to the left, in order to bring the shots more centered ??

I know I could do this by trial and error..just thought I would ask :)

Thanks for your help.

move the rear sight the way you want the bullet to go, if the bullet hole is left of the bullseye, move the sight to the right. eastbank.

Yep. What he said.
Note: Tap carefully. It doesn't take much movement of the rear to effect a fairly large change. You didn't mention how far left your shots were nor at what distance. Go slowly.
