PSL no longer imported?

Why are PSL's over $1000 dollars now? Are they no longer imported? I remember a year ago seeing them at gun shows for $799 and thought that was high.

Supply and demand would be my guess. I haven't seen any around locally and most the online retailers when I looked last where out of stock.

Honestly though I really didn't like my PSL. The barrel would heat up after a few rounds and open the groups up even more in the already wide groups I was getting from that crappy surplus ammo I was using.
If I were to get another semiauto 7.62x54R rifle it would have to be an all matching tokarev(I collect milsurps) or much more likely a VEPR.
I would buy a VEPR over a PSL any day of the week.

With the Wassenaar Arrangement catching up to them, I doubt Romania is even making PSLs anymore.
