View Full Version : Urban Gray, son of Titanium and Black

So originally one of our demo units scheduled to go out for testing received a "Titanium" finish. Came out much too light and with a metallic hint than I cared for.

Sat down and after about an hour of mixing and testing over and over again I finally found the right mix ratio between two colors to get the color I wanted. The community also voted for the Urban Gray color in a recent poll out of choices like, black, dark/light tan, od green, foliage, etc. etc. Actually it won all over the internet by a landslide.

We also changed some of the gear load out for the testers, like the addition of a LARUE P.O.D. for the MAGPUL MOE and a very short 3" forward grip that has an adjustable bottom to act as the monopod or shooters grip.

Ok so blah blah, here is one of our updated models and if anyone knows if there is a Krylon dark gray color for plastics out there let me know, cause I want to spray the Pelican 1750 to match and that would just be way too much Duracoat supply for a case.

I think we got pretty darn close to the color. Its a tad darker in person than on camera. :righton:

Edit: And for comparison, the original Titanium color:

More good news.

The days of our 3D models are numbered.

Machine shop sent me an email this morning that parts are shipping this afternoon. I should hopefully have a fully assembled and finished unit to share by the end of the weekend.
