I have been wanting a Ruger 10/22 for years, and when I saw the new takedown model. I was not leaving without it.
Questions on a preferrd sight option...
1) Hi Vis style open sights
2) A decent priced scope (made for .22)
3) Red dot system.
Thank you in advance for your opinions!!

Current issue of Gun Test magazine praised your new rifle, but didn't care for two others in a comparison. They say yours is a sweet shooter that hits a home run while the others walked or struck out.

Thank you for the link Steelchickenshooter, but I do not care to spend $24 (yr) to pull up an article. And, there are some negative posts about that site. I will make my own opinions as I get an opportunity to burn through a "brick" or so.
Thanks again.

I plan on eventually getting one myself and plan on equipping it with a tech-sight and threading the barrel.

You say "thank you in advance for your opinions" and you reply by saying you will make your own opinions? All I implied was that I think, and others think, you have a very nice rifle compared to a couple other brands.

I have a bushnell on my 10/22, it's 17 years old and is perfect for rimfire. I like it, it holds zero and is repeatable. You probably looking for a low profile scope, 4x?

Please keep us posted on range results, and what you think. I always love to hear actual end users evaluations, and I have a lot of interest in this new Ruger!
Thanks, Bimmer

Congrats RickE! I also recently bought a 10/22 Takedown, and I'm interested in some of the same accessories as you, but have selected any yet.
I really like the gun a lot, and I shoot it pretty well for a beginner.

Steelchickenshooter, I did not mean my response to sound that way, sorry. I was frustrated then the magazine web site wanted me to spend $24 to pull up the article. As I mentioned, I need to burn through a brick os so before I decide on the sight options. Thank you.

I went with the EOTech XPS2-0 red dot sight for my own 10/22 TD. Really like the setup!

Yea but eotecs are pricey. I mean do you really want a $500 sight on a $200 rifle?

Good optics are worth the money! I have a savage 10fp and put a nightforce Optic on it. Best pice of glass. The price of the night force I could have bought 3 new rifles.

If RickE will phone 269 934 1122 and leave a message with a mailing adress, I can send the magazine article. If you get an out-of-office answer- ignore that and leave the mailing address anyway.
