Walked into a local gun shop today and there on a rack was a Windham AR-15, carbine, A-2 Front site, folding diamondhead? rearsite, hard case, strap and one 30 round mag. Not having priced or even seen but one other I am not sure of the price. $900 wouuld walk it out the door. From Windhams website it looks like its an MPC without the detachable carry handle. Any reccomendations

If you don't already know the story... Windham is made by the "old" Bushmaster talent. Good company, good gun, fair store price.

Windham is building some great AR's, A friend has their varmint gun and it is a tack driver.

I saw one at WM here also, it was a SRC I think, complete flat top, no sites at all. But I figured sites would cost me another $100. Gonna try to stop there today and look at that one and maybe decide which one I like better.

For $900 I'd say look carefully at PSA and Spikes before buying Windham.

+1 for Windham. My WW has run 2500 trouble free rounds and I have put that thing through hell.

Palmetto State rifles do come with 1-7 twist so you are able to shoot the heavier grain rounds which is the best for hunting.

I picked up a WW a couple days ago, just like the OP was talking about.
It's a nice rifle, fit and finish seem pretty good, and for the price, you could do a lot worse.
After doing some reading, shooting and of course, tearing it all apart, I'm glad I went with the Windham instead of some others I looked at.
Walked it out the door for $860

You can't go wrong with a Windham, I have one on order after I shot two of my friends Windhams. The varmint gun is under 1" @ 100 yds right out of the box with only a scope put on it. The life time transferable warranty is frosting on the cake. Windham was my first choice over Palmetto, RRA and even Colt.

Not over Colt for me. And not over PSA either.

My thoughts exactly.
