Check out these couple of Garand beauties, a CMP Collector Grade in pristine, virtually unissued condition, the second a WWII Garand. I wanted to document some of the markings on the first one, and decided to have some fun at the range with the second.

Nice rifles indeed, personally I would rather have one all war torn and "history" marks on it from a solider who carried it.

Well, the Civilian Marksmanship Program's "field grade" or "service grace" may be just what you are looking for.

Of course, on the other hand, a WWWII beauty with a new stock or barrel has a story to tell of its own...a story of very hard use in battle, sent back in to the arsenal and reissued.

They all have a story. If only they could speak!

Nice... I just got a 1955 "New" Garand myself. Mine came from a collector though. Mine has an interesting stock. It's from a Type 2 National Match. Just shot it for the first time last weekend... Fantastic!
