Hi all, I may have found a VZ 24, it's is Very Good + to excellent condition. It has the Czech crest intact and all numbers match, plus a matching bayonet and scabbard, made in 1938 BTW and no import stamps..

So....what would be a fair price for one like this?

Thanks so much!

$250-300.

ANY Czech made mauser with all matching numbers in
near or excellent condition is worth MUCH more than
$300.

But I won't quote a "price" without seeing at least pictures
of the rifle. VZ24's are definitely collectible pieces.

What the good Doctor said.

The rifle you described is worth considerable more than $300. Is the bayonet # matched? It could very well be worth 2X's that price or more.

The Yugo capture VZ's, the M24/52C is worth well over $300.

Hi all, thanks for the great posts, here are some pics of the gun from the seller. I asked about the stock, and he stated that all he did was clean off the cosmoline and steamed out the dents. Metal is about 95% + with no rust or pitting, the bores a bit dark, but very strong rifling and no pitting. The bayonet does match.

So....what do you think she's worth?

I did buy this one BTW, but for less than asking.

Thanks again!

Well, it turns out that Hank is right on this one.
That's why I won't speak price without seeing pics
first.

Your rifle is a Romanian rebuild VZ24. The "matching"
numbers were added as part of the rebuild process.
Most of us here, except for possibly Hank, figured your
rifle was an original.

Still a nice gun you have there. Many of the crests were
ground on these rebuilds, so you get points for your rifle
having the intact crest.

Have fun with your new rifle !

Thanks so much, I appreciate the info.

So....educate me here, how can one tell if it's a rebuild?

Thanks so much!
