Hello I'm new to this forum but I love black powder firearms. This is a vidio of me doing some shooting. I realize that this is not actually cowboy action shooting it's just me messing around at the farm but it's as close as I've even gotten to the sport. I do shoot black powder a lot and own 5 BP guns but just never got the chance and I don't think i look good in cowboy gear. :p

Don't put yourself down. I think the shooting you did was far more realistic than any CAS.

Thanks for the video.
It looks like you guys have a lot of fun.
Wish I had a shootable back yard.
But there's one error in your technique.
Everyone who ever watched a western movie knows that you are supposed to throw the empty guns at the target.

Looks pretty fun to me. I have an 1858 Remington that I love to shoot!

You need to go to a few matches and then decide if it's not for you.
The fun shooting BP at matches is a real Hoot and you may not be the top shooter but you will be shooting with others who enjoy doing it the real way.
All the BP shooters are the ones with the big grins on their faces and they will help you at the drop of a hat.
If you have a problem then everyone will try to help you, even those nasty shooters who shoot that new fanged powder that don't have flames, sparks, smoke or that loud "BOOM"

Another group you might like to check out is the N-SSA (North-South Skirmish Association). They do competitive individual and team shoots at a variety of reactive targets.
