That's it, I cannot find anything about my 16 ga shotgun. In front of trigger guard it says Rose' a' Villenause. Help It is a very nice petite frame, 2.5 in chamber, has engraving and beautiful hand checkering and weight 5 # 13 oz.

Pics would be tremendously helpful. Clear and precise pictures of all markings can pinpoint the nationality.
The name sounds French, but lots of Belgian guns were labeled thus.
With the exception of a few large makers like Manufrance, most shotguns in Europe were made by small makers, some of whom outsourced parts from pins to whole actions and barrel sets.
The bad news is market value on these is lower than it should be. Most are well made, delightful bird guns.Lots of these were dufflebagged back to the US in the late 40s.
The good news is you probably have a well made, delightful bird gun.
Among others, Polywad offers low pressure, 2 1/2" bird loads in all common gauges, including 16.
