You stole that kimber..

Ughhhh. That's not a Kimber. You can tell by the engraving on the slide that reads "Springfield Armory" :p

I'd be less jealous if it was a Kimber. haha.

Haha I'm looking on Kimber's website while I'm on here. I guess I just can't do two things at once. Or maybe I just got the wants for another 1911 bad enough that I can't think straight

I have one just like it but mine came with wrap around Pachmeyer grips. Got it new back in 1998 for $500.00. Seem the price has gone up some. The only other things I have done to mine is install a Wilson full length guiderod and put a flat mainspring housing in it. I didn't like the arched one. The UC is a great gun and mine goes bang everytime I pull the trigger. Stick with the Wilson mags and you're good to go. The original black mags that came with the gun were junk.

The opposite side of the gun is a bit scratched up (especially the "idiot" mark).

However, I may try and make it my EDC so I'm not worried about cosmetic wear as it will undoubtedly gain more.

I may look into having it bead blasted though, but I've never done this before.

Shipmann, incase you're interested, I got mine in 1998 and my serial number is 355XXX which means your pistol is a little older than mine. I don't know If I would bead blast the whole gun. The contrast is the identifiable thing of that model. I have a slight idiot mark on mine too and I suspect most 1911 type guns have the same mark. The UC is a good shooter so enjoy it.

Bead blasting does wonders to marred up finishes on stainless. It's generally quite cheap as well. Robar is local for me, so I've had them do bead blasting before, since they did such a great job on some NP3 jobs for me. The difference is incredible. Looks like a brand new gun. If I remember correctly, it was something like $65 to do both the slide and frame... Something like that. Very reasonable and certainly less than $100.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into it.

Very sharp and I'm not into 1911's!

Very nice. If you guys aren't careful I'm going to get the 1911 bug and will have to get another firearm...I don't own a .45 yet:D

You stole a Kimber, oh no, TAKE IT BACK, TAKE IT BACK!!!!

Just kidding. Kimber makes a good 1911 but I'm sold on Springfield. For $500, you did alright. Congrats.
