Would you please share your expertise on this?
I have a Colt Officer's Revolver-blue steel,6" barrel,target sights.Serial#16803.
22LR caliber.The latest patent date listed on the barrel is 1924.
Any info would be much appreciated.Your forum is most fascinating.

From your serial number, I'm showing 1937 for the year of production.

It depends on what the gun is worth to you. If it's in good or excellant condition, it may be worth it as papers do enhance a gun. I have it for my Randalls (both southpaws) and for one Colt.

The Colt letter can bring up the value if it shows some special shipment. Most letters only say that the gun was shipped to some distributor or hardware store on a certain date as part of a shipment of some number of guns. Interesting, but not big bucks.
