Thinking of building one of these for pratice out at my parents house.

cant seem to find any kind of plans or anything on them so thought i would ask some of you guys if you had built one.

was thinking of using 3/8 plate steel with 6-8 8" round plates having them sit on top of a wood rack...have the plates on hinges and angled forward some to shoot the bullet down to the ground

ws jsut couious if anyone has done something similar to this jsut for some training. and shooting drills

A couple of guys in my shooting league had access to plasma cutters and made some very nice plate racks, poppers and stop plates. They're a ton of fun.

If you look at the USPSA website I think they have the plate rack plans or diagrams.

Watch the fit between the plate and the support - the pivot. If the channel is much larger than the axis, an edge hit can cause the plate to twist and not fall. That has been the biggest problem I have seen with homemade plate racks.

You will do better with 1/2" hardened plate or a high impact resistant steel like T1A.
