I would love to have a nice fullauto toy. I want it in .22lr so that it can be shot often for "reasonably" cheap. Obviously, I want it to be high capacity or the full auto would be kind of useless to me.

What are some options?

I guess it depends on what you consider high capacity. A simple m11/9 with a Lage .22 Conversion will do 800-900 rounds per min. and has 40rd mags. So for around $4000 you have a cheap bullet hose.

There is an outfit that makes an American 180 upper... if you have a live legal M16 lower to put it on.

AM 180 is really the only thing with any quantity

The cheapest you are going to get in for is $4000 for the M11/9 with a Lage .22 upper.

American 180s with those big drums are reliable and throw a couple hundred rounds downrange. They are rare and go for about $10,000.

Your most versitile option is a registered receiver AR-15/M16 with a dedicated .22 upper. You can switch to any upper. The RR will set you back about $8000 if you get a decent deal. They can be picky.

Norrel full-auto trigger packs for 10/22s run around $9000. Finding a reliable high capacity magazine can be a problem. The steel lip 30 rounders work.

I think those Norrell 10/22s are great fun. I'd buy a AC556 and a .22 kit for that money...

Black Dog Machine makes a very nice 50 rd drum mag. http://blackdogmachinellc.net/drum-10-22-50rd.aspx
