i was offered a trade for my 1959 winchester 94 30-30
mine is in great shape there is some blueing loss but not bad about 80-85%
and a fine stock
the trade is for a winchester model 70 ultimate shadow 300 shortmag with a simons 3-9
what is the moa trigger assembly i dont know any thing about this rifle or what to expect
is it value wise worth the trade on my 94
and that much gun under the scope, will simons scopes keep a zero ive priced my rifle at 500 obo his is priced 550
his new runs about 650 give or take does it hold value after a few years to still be worth the 550 (if it is in like new /new condition)
who is getting the better deal value wise i have no need for a 300 mag
and i already have a 30-30 lever in a savage i dont really like the action on the 94 as it is a tube feed not an internal magazine
i am strictly looking at face value i dont need either rifle but do enjoy having each one and i dont have a real purpose for it other than to have it

I wouldn't, just because they ain't making them any more.

Do you have a need for a 300 mag bolt gun? Everyone needs a Winchester 94. ;)

I wouldn't. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing your gun is worth more.

I personally wouldnt do it, but you said yourself you have no need for it and even though its not being made its doubtfully going to increase in value. Its all up to you if you want to try something out

what is the difrence between the super shadow and ultimate shadow
i have been told that the shadow (didnt say what one) doesnt get much better than a 1.5 moa in the 300 short i have a hard time believing that has any thing to do with the rifle probably more the shooter or a flinch

don't make the trade for several reasons, one which is you stated you have no need for the 300 wsm. keep your 30-30 until you find the rifle you want, then offer your model 94 as trade (and that is only IF you have no need/desire to keep the rifle). patience is always rewarded when dealing with pre-64 winchesters!

I sold 2 guns in my life and later regretted it both times. Don't ever get rid of one unless it is defective. Even then see if you can fix it.

The only reason to transfer ownership of a good gun is to pass it to a loved one.

I would keep the 30-30.

"THE BONES HAVE SPOKEN" he has already traded his 300 whew...that was close. i think it will stay in the family
if Winchester is in fact dieing out maybe it would be good to hold on to it. it might make a nice conversation piece in about 30 years
