Pillar bedding basically is you remove stock material around the action screws and replace it with harder material ie brass , aluminum or Plastic.
The common way is too drill out holes in stock with a bigger drill bit and pour in metal reinforced epoxy glue ( steel bed or j/b weld)

The idea behind pillar beding ia to make the area arouns the action screws resistant to crushing so that the action is held secure, straight, and its position is repeatable in relation to the bedding every time the action is removed and replaced. Over the years, this has been accomplished in a number of ways, either with steel inserts, poured epoxy reinforcements, or aluminum posts around the action screws. Several makers sell kits for popular rifles that include drilled aluminum posts that can be epoxied in place. Someone who owns a lathe can make similar pillars from any material that can be epoxied in place. Once the pillars are epoxied in place in the stock, the action is glass bedded into the stock for a snug, repeatable fit.
