I have a stainless Springer Mil-Spec and I am looking for an extended slide release. I tries a Wilson Combat and it did not fit. Anyone got any suggestions. I also scratched the finish on the frame(duh) Any suggestions on how to get that out?

i scratched the frame on my stainless springer loaded by the slide release and i took a piece of scotch brite and rubbed it out. it didnt change the look or finish of the frame. if you try it just go lightly and slowly to make sure it will work ok for you.

What part didn't fit? The pin or the pad? You may have to get a specially fit pin (they come in sizes from .195 to .205" or so) or you may have to fit the pad to the plunger.
Few parts on a 1911 truly 'drop in.' Those that do are generally generic and undersized, in my experience.

Ignore the scratch.
