Can you use 5.56 nato green tip ammo in a standard .223 mini 14?

The mini is chambered for 5.56...... is green tip steel core? as long as it has a copper jacket it should be OK.

You will be fine. I should ss109 Penetrator clones from my Mini-14 Tactical all of the time. FYI ... my Mini likes the 62gr. and heavier bullets. With the 55 gr. they are all over the place, and I get my share of fliers with the lighter bullets. This could be why the Mini gets a bad rap! Hmmm ... I could be on to something. ;)

click on mini 14, and download the instruction manual.
You are just fine with 5.56 green tip, or any other 5.56 round

The only Mini-14 that won't is the Target model. The chamber is .223 only.
