I need some advice from all the Thompson owners out there. I've got a craving for a Thompson 1927-a1 T1/T5 semi auto. I've heard horror stories about these, but now that Khar arms bought them, I was wondering if anyone has bought one or knows anyone that has one & what they have to say. I work too hard for my money to spend 1200.00 + on a gun that will turn out to be a piece of crap. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

mikey, i bought one of those thompsons and i loved mine. Would shoot just
about anything you fed it, .45 acp wise. But, they are HEAVY and gets pretty old carrying one around. Almost no recoil, like shooting a .22 almost.
They are very well made, so probably accounts for the high price on those.
Sold mine, needed the money,so thats my take on them, for what its worth.

Just what I have HEARD *Note that part*.

That the newer ones are better than the ones made a few years ago. I handled one at our local store. Felt decent, heavy, but seemed pretty well made. The $1,200 price tag sorta put me off though

I don't care for the foregrip, I'll go with the "Plain Janes" for $900.

I had one of these and loved it. They sound or thump awesome and the smoke pouring out of the barrel is sweet. They are great conversation pieces. I got mine for 700 from a show and it was mint with box. I passed one one just last week for 650. Look around, one will find you.
