This pistol is a 120000 serial range colt pocket pistol that came to me with the latch and 1/2" of the loading lever broken off.The pistol retains some barrel bluing[15%],25% case colors on frame and lever, and 80% nickle plating on grips. All markings incl.cylinder are sharp and clear.
Why question is 1] Should I have the lever repaired prior to selling,or2]sell as is ??
If repair who would do a good job on the this and how is the value effected in either case??Thanks

Do you have the broken piece? I would show a buyer the broken lever and show how it would look with the broken off piece reattached in a photo. I would leave it up to the buyer to fix it if they want. A clean break might be something that a pro could repair. Would not have to be field worthy repair, not like someone is gonna use it, if it is original. Then again if it is for display, a repro lever might be good to put on it if the original is saved. A repro could be aged in appearance to better match the display. Adding repro parts without disclosure is fraudulent, though. If you have all the pieces, show the buyer and let them decide.
