Hello everyone. I have a couple of questions. What do you guys carry at night vs day or do you carry the same thing? I know sometimes during the day I carry my Springfield GI 1911. At night however it is strictly my Sig P226 because of the night sights. I walk my dog at night right before I go to bed so I feel better with my Sig because I get a really good sight picture. I'm just interested in your all's input. Also how does your night time carry routine vary from your day carry routine?

I usually just make sure I have a extra mag if I carry my 1911 of my PF-9 at night. I dont usually carry a spare in the daytime. If I am carrying my Sigma a never carry a spare mag, its a hi-cap

I use the same gun for day and night–a S&W M&P40 with night sights.

I don't change based on time of day; I do change based on the location/environment that I may be entering.

High Standard .22 mag o/u in a wallet holster when walking the dog at night. Very concealable, quick two-shots. .22 mag at close range is nasty.

If I'm going to be out at night, a Streamlight TLR-2 goes on the belt, otherwise no change from daytime carry.

My night-time gun is the same as my day-time gun. I am looking into night-sights, but haven't put any on as of yet...

My day/night carry doesn't change. Area I go to might change what I carry. What I wear might change what I carry but time doesn't really make a difference.

More than likely you won't be using your sights in a SD situation.

I have two carry guns depending on what I am wearing that day / night
A Rossi 44 Spl snubbie and a S&W 908 compact.
In a SD situation it's point and shoot.
In a SD situation you likely don't have time to line up a shot so aim off the front blade and squeeze.

If going out at night, I just make sure to charge up my Nitesiters on my PT140, and I keep a Maglite with me. I'd love to tote my XD with the Streamlight TLR-2 hanging from the rail, but that's just a bit on the uncomfortably huge side.

I don't vary because all my SD HGs have night sights and I carry a 80 or greater lumen pocket light day or night too. Inside buildings with little or no light are often more challenging than nights in general.

Everything has night sights, I make choice based on ability to conceal and whether I want hi-cap. Day/night is irrelevant.

"More than likely you won't be using your sights in a SD situation."
I try to get at least my front sight on target while practicing. Of course if you are contact close not a worry.

I don’t swap due to being day or night but I do switch due to where I might be going. There are parts of the city that I will “load up” if I have to go there but for the most part my normal carry gun is a Glock 26 with Trijicon sights.
Its like three little lights, you line up and,,,,,

I don't carry differently because of the time of day. But I usually never walk around outside in the dark anyway. My two usual carry guns are either my MP 9c or my S & W 442 with C.T. Laser Grips and with strip loader(s). Weather and clothing dictate which I carry at any particular time.
If you are walking in the neighborhood armed, remember to take your carry license or they will think you are the bad guy.

Same Kimber UCDP .45 I carry during the daytime. Unless I'm biking, then it's a change to the Glock 26 in a OWB kydex under a safety vest.
