Hi again. I recently purchased a Sig 556 SWAT Special Edition in Dark Earth, I am looking for a high quality optic to mount on it but don't know where to start. Any ideas? Thanks

Well since no one replied to this forum I went ahead and mounted a Eotech 552A65 on my rifle. Haven't had a chance to shoot it but I think it will work fine for home defense and training at the firearms academy.

Sounds like a great choice. I'm currently awaiting a 553 for my 556. If you get a chance, let us know how you like it.
Also, I've been trying to find out whether or not the factory emergency sights will cowitness through the 553, do they for your 552? I'm getting anxious!

Just got my EOTech 553 installed on the Sig 556. As others have said, the 553 is mounted too high to co-witness to the Sig's factory flip-up sights. I guess I'll have to look into some AR style BUIS soon.
Here are a couple pictures!

My Buddy and I just recently went to the DC Gun Show. He Picked up a 556.
And he's already done this:
Eotech adv halo gram dot
Eotech 3x magnifying scope
Bipod

Which ever Aimpoint model you prefer given your needs.

The Aimpoint M4 without their enclosed spacer will co-witness with the Sig 556 emergecy sights perfectly. 8 year battery life when left on is a plus as is the fine optics and strenght. They come with a great mount that uses a built in torque limiter to attach the sight.

The Eotech 552 works great and the stock sights can be seen through the eotech. I am considering mounting a different rear sight though. The stock rear flip up seems kinda flimsy. Any one have any suggestions?
