Hello,
Hoping someone can help with DOB for Model 27 3 1/2' pinned barrel, nickel S.N. 137XXX.

Need to know the prefix of the serial number, "N" or "S". I'm guessing N.
N137XXX would be 1973/74
S137XXX would be 1955

Thanks for the response, actually there is the "s" prefix a bit away from the rest of what I presumed to be the complete SN. Thanks again.

If it is a S serial numbered gun then you wouldn't see a M27 stamped in the frame cutout for the yoke.

Hello
If there is an S-Prefix before the serial numbers you Provided it shows your 27 to be from the 1954-1955 Time Frame. If it is from that time frame it will be what is called a Five Screw revolver, meaning it will have Four screws holding the side plate in Position and one under the trigger Guard. A very desireable model there, let's see some Pictures of it... Hammer It
