Went to the Silverado gun show this weekend at the Howard County Fairgrounds, thought I would post some of the prices I saw, give some kind of signpost as to what milsurps are doing these days:

Average 91/30: $100 with the usual bayonet + cleaning kit

Hex receiver 91/30: $140

Hex receiver, laminate stock: $150

Good condition M44: $120

Good condition M38: $150 (mysterious markings, too)

poor Turkish Mauser, non-matching: $120

Average Mauser 24/47: $225

Poor condition Enfield Mk 4: $250

Slightly below average Enfield Mk 1 No 3: $275

Average Enfield Mk 1 No 3: $350

Good condition Swedish Mauser: $350

Average condition 1903: $375

Sporterized 1903: $225

Average M1 Garand: $1200

Average M1 Carbine: $600

Poor K31: $375 (!)

Average SKS 59/66: $230

Poor SKS 59/66: $175

Unissued SKS 59/66: $300

Average Chinese SKS: $350

Average Steyr M95: $200

Average French MAS-36 (.308): $350

A lot of these I couldn't inspect in depth; for what I presume were safety reasons most of the bolts were ziptied closed, so one could only get a rough estimate of bore quality, bolt smoothness, etc. Really all you could inspect was external bluing, stock quality, crown quality, and overall condition.

Overall, it seemed prices were up a bit from the last show I went to, although I didn't take notes last time. And prices in Maryland are always a little higher than everywhere else, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for posting. Prices over the river seem a bit higher than in VA. If you have a C&R you should hit some of the shows in NoVA.

Thanks, great to read this and compare with what I have seen in Ohio. Good to see that K31 so high:)

NO IT ISN'T !!! I still want a K31....... I guess it's not a good idea to wait for the prices to come down a bit. Guns never seem to do that.

LOL, I am expecting the k31 to at least double in the next year. Especially with an AWB as it is reputed to be one of the best bolt actions. I shot mine for the first time Sunday afternoon. The kick was miniscule. I may buy a few more, especially if i can find a sporter stock so i can take it to the range and such without worrying about the original.
