We've started a trap league at work last week. We have a golf league and hunting and fishing contests but didn't have any shooting sports. It was a big milestone in getting the big bosses to approve it. We're shooting at a trap club a couple miles from my house that I didn't even know was there and I've lived here for 6 years.:( It's ran by an older gentleman that used to shoot competitive trap. Rumor is he was one of the best. A few of us went and shot the other morning after work. He's always real good at helping us shoot better. But then he brung out his Kohler(sp?) trap gun. Damn it was nice. Costing some where around 15k and he let us shoot it.:D The problem is now I want one and my wife won't let me have one. Anybody else have a league or anything like this at work.

Well, we don't have a league, but there are 5 of us that shoot together regularly. I am working on trying to get a league or at least a regular weekend shoot together. We are lucky in that there is a very nice facility about 15 minutes from our office. We often shoot at lunch (we are fortunate to work at a place that occasionally allows an extended lunch for such activities).

Congratulations. It should be a lot of fun.

Good luck on the Kolar. I think it's damn narrow minded of your wife to not allow you to get one. You'll just have to get her hooked so she wants one too.:D

<i>"We've started a trap league at work last week."</i>

That's my idea of a dream job, whatever it is. If they have beer at lunchtime (I had one that allowed/encouraged it at one time, 1970's), I'd be one happy camper.

When I was in high school (1960s), I tried to start a shooting club, but in the lily-white suburb I grew up in, the school admins put the kibosh on that.

One-by-one, my three favorite trap ranges have all closed. All I'm left with is an indoor 25yd. range. I think that one will be around for awhile, since it's also a training site for a number of LEO departments. :(

I do not have a league in my office / but in my area there are a number of registered shoots for Trap almost every month and some leagues at the 4 or 5 clubs within a 50 mile radius or so / so we're probably lucky up here.

Its good to get out and shoot on a regular basis - and I hope you're able to keep it going long term.

There are a lot of nice Trap Guns - Kolar is a good gun, Krieghoff is probably their major competitor, Ljutic, etc ... but there is also Browning ( XT, XT Gold as O/U's and the BT-99 and the BT 99 Gold single barrels - that are all nice trap guns - and for the money an XT gold is a very good buy and you get a lot of gun for about $ 4,000. ). In my area I'm seeing a lot more nice Trap guns for sale - upgraded stocks, often with Gra Coil systems in them, 32" barrels which is my personal preference in a Trap gun for an O/U - and $ 3K or so will buy you some very nice guns. Its good to have dreams / goals of buying a real nice Trap gun / hope you get there.
