I have a handgun made by Smith & Wesson. It is a 32 caliber and has a model number of 81454 and was patented on Oct 8, 1901. I would like to know the value of it. I do not wish to sell it.
I would appreciate any info given.

That is not a model number. It is either a serial number or assembly number.

The number I listed was on the butt of the gun.

The number on the gun butt is the serial number. But since S&W serial numbered each model in its own series, there will be a number of guns with that number, so a better description or a picture would be needed to know just what you have.
