Does anybody have much info about the New England NP1-2S8? Low on budget and looking to purchase this for home defense. Any input would be great.

Also, if you know of any pump shotgun in that price range of $200-300 that would be better, please list any.

It's a Chinese copy of the Remington 870.
You should be able to pick up a used American made shotgun for that range.
I'm partial to the Ithaca 37, but most people would recommend a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500.

Kevin, as Kozak said I would steer you to a new or used American made offering such as the Mossberg 500... Many plus features on it including American made/owned company plus the safety atop the receiver etc... Have a BLAST deciding...

I picked up an 8 shot mossberg maverick for $198+tax at a gun show last fall. its made in america and 100% reliable. I have put ~300 rounds through it so far w/o a hitch. I am actually planning to take it to the range today to see how wolf 00 buck and centurion home defense ammo (one .650 cal ball and 6 #1 buck) patterns in it. FYI I think the maverick is the same price as the NEF @ buds!

Some of the parts on the Maverick are made in Mexico to keep the price down.

I just got back from the range with my maverick. I went through 20 rounds of wolf 00, 20 rounds of centurion multi defense, 10 federal slugs and a box of estate birdshot. Again the maverick gobbled up everything w/o a hitch. It seems to be a pretty solid Tex-mex product:D
Just a quick aside...the centurion multi-defense is AWESOME!!! At 15-25 yards it opened up from 6"-12" with a big .65 cal hole right in the center!!! I am alternating it and 00 buck in the maverick for home defense.
