View Full Version : Should I bother w/refinishing the slide on my P220

It is a CPO gun and it's gorgeous. My only complaint is the slides bluing is weak, and you can see where they may have touched it up.

Would it hurt the value, or should I just call Sig and see if they will do it?

I am really anal when it comes to guns. I don't mind wear, but this just looks like it's thin.

I can't see how it can really hurt the value because it is already a used gun.

Kinda what I thought. Especially if I have the factory do it.
According to Sig they don't refinish CPO guns unless absolutley necessary

If you are unhappy with the SIG P220's finish, give SIGARMS a call to see
what can be worked out. I am quite sure they will make you happy~! ;) :D

They use a proprietary finish - not bluing and it will look right after they are through with it. BTW, what is CPO?

I just bought a LE trade in (Law Enforcment) from Southern Ohio Gun - $379 plus overnight shipping $407 out the door. This is a P220 and I just shot it for the first time today - 100% function and good accuracy - couldn't be happier. What a great gun!

CPO= Certified Pre Owned

They differ drom "used" guns because they are all LEO/Military trade ins, that Sig armorers go completly thru and replace/repair parts as needed. Then the rebox as new with manuals, locks, mags, and give it a 1 year warranty. The finish is not covered unless extremly bad.

You can't really tell on the gun and it looks great from a foot away, but when up close, in bright light you can see discoloration. It is a gorgeous 2-tone It's like black slide pewter frame.

Just would feel better if it was a better finish job

Send it off to http://www.mahovskysmetalife.com/ ...they do a fantastic job with hardchroming. Only $58 for the slide!

Best way to make a SIG into a two-tone.

Those CPO P220's come at a price.

I missed all the good deals, and just opted to go this route.

Trust me I'd been just as happy with a plain ole used one:D
