This is my dream shotgun. Remington 870 Super Mag I have wanted a shotgun like this for 6 years. Knoxx Spec Ops stock. Picotenny front rail system with CAA front pistol grip. Chote mag extension, High Lux 2 eye Red dot.
2 3/4 shells it can hold 9 in the mag and 1 in the hole.

Somebody is manufacturing all that stuff so some number of folks must be buying it. Personally that would be the most useless set up I could own.

Just asking
What is the primary use of this shotgun?
The length of the barrel on that gun pictured falls into what catagory?
HD? Ok if you add a bayonet I guess
offensive? you go first,I dont want that barrel ramminig into me
Skeet/clays? Ok,if they are on the ground
Rails? laser&flashlight,what else?
Mag ext? 9 shells,well you got me there,I have 2 590's
But really you have to ask yourself before you start your project: what is the purposed use of this gun?

Well I'm gonna say congrats ,you got your "dream" shotgun, when I build mine,I'll be kinda upset about someone knocking it!I dont appreciate how people take it upon themselves to knock someone else.Well if you dont like it then dont comment! Its not brain surgery, some folks need to quit being a "negative nancy".

But back to the original post ,nice setup,I'd personally have to make full use of those rails, like a flashlight & maybe a laser sighted in for slugs. To each his own and Hats off to you.

I am going to the range tomorrow to shot some clay. So I'll let you all know how the stock works for recoil absorbion. The barrel is stock 26 or 28 smooth bore. That is the 10 round set up I will use for practice shooting. I will get an 18 in barrel and remove the extension for HD. I dont really dig lasers but maybe a small flashlight that will hook to the other side of the pic rail. A rifled hunting barrel is in the future as well. The red dot will only be for clay, bird, and HD use. I will have to get a proper 4X for hunting deer or anything else. The shopping list for the future is 1 18in barrel, 1 rifled barrel, and a small scope. The Front pistol grip I was ready to try and so far I really like it. Tomorrow will be the true test. If I Swap the barrel, and optics and I will be able to kill ANYTHING:rolleyes: . That was the plan. Many guns with just 1 recever. Think Modular Combat Shotgun for civilians for less then half the price.

Reconsider the Red Dot for clay shooting. When shooting a moving target with a shotgun your eyes are on the target and not on the front sight or looking through optics. When you wing/target shoot if your eyes are on the target the gun will follow your eyes to the target.

Shooting shotguns is different than shooting rifles. With shotguns you need your peripheral vision (depth perception) to help judge distance to the target. In rifle shooting depth preception does not reall play a factor as the distance is not changing or changing as drastic as a fast moving target. If you are looking through any sort of optic you loose your depth perception and the anoying red dot in the center is going to distract you eye to it and not to the target.

You can believe me on this......I stayed in a Holiday Inn

We burned 100 thru it today clay shooting dove size. It was awesome to say the least. The red dot was a wash to clay but I took you advise and planed around it. I painted the front bead with bright sight green so it worked great. Everyone that shot it loved it and I am really happy with it. Great fun was had.
