I have found good prices on a new M9 and on a new 92FS. Are there any good reasons to choose one over the other. I believe that the sights are different. Are there any other differences I should be aware of. This will be my first Beretta, so I appreciate the help.

It seems your question has been answered already on the Beretta forums. But if you must have more info here is the link to the Beretta web site with the description of the entire series of 92's

Thanks. One of the reasons I asked was that the Beretta USA web site only makes mention of the M9A1. It does say that the 92FS is the closest approximation of the military M9, but without specifying what makes them different. I don't want to take credit for the answers here, but here is the link I was provided with on the Beretta forum. If it is inappropriate to post a link to a different forum, I will remove it.

Don't mind me there is no problem with posting on multiple web sites with the same question. I personally own a 2 92fs's, one made in Italy and the other made in the states. Can't tell the difference except for the stampings in the slide. I guess on your part it will be a matter of preference. Also own 2 Px4 Storms, 1-9mm and 1- 40S&W and a early 950 . All fine guns:cool:

If it is inappropriate to post a link to a different forum, I will remove it. Not at all. TFL was created to be a resource to the internet and to its members. Linking to other resources is therefore a welcome addition.

There is only one caution. If you link to a site with potentially offensive content please post a warning along with the link.

Thanks!
