View Full Version : I want a new NINEmm

September 4, 2007, 07:38 AM
It has to look cool and it has to be single action capable. It must be reliable and accurate, and it cant be a SW M&P or a baby eagle and it cant be over 600 dollars. Rails are good too.

September 4, 2007, 07:45 AM
CZ 75B would work, though no rail. The SP-01 has a rail.

This one.
I shot mine Saturday, and I never fail to be impressed by how fantastic it shoots. Cocked and locked capability, new one's have a rail (I prefer none, but that's me), easiest field stripping in existance, abso-friggen-lutely never jams, and beautiful to boot! Should be south of $400.

September 4, 2007, 07:52 AM
+1 on the CZ.
I got a P01 a few months ago. I have more than a few handguns and the P01 has become my favorite to shoot.I will probably be getting a CZ 75 too.
CZ is definetely worth checking out

September 4, 2007, 07:54 AM
Another +1 on the CZ

September 4, 2007, 08:40 AM
Has to look cool? OK, I will definately go with the CZ75 SA for a lawful purchaser.

September 4, 2007, 08:55 AM
Another +1 on the Taurus. The PT 92 is a great buy almost anywhere. Mine has been 100%. It shoots great, feels good in my hand and NEVER stops. After a thousand plus rounds it is still perfect.

September 4, 2007, 09:03 AM
Yet another +1 for the CZ75B. Accurate, reliable, robust and feels natural in the hand. Parts & mags readily available.

September 4, 2007, 09:38 AM
How about the MPA 9?:

September 4, 2007, 10:41 AM
CZ makes a number of excellent 9mms. I've got a PCR - no accessary rail but you can get the P01 if you need the rail. The PCR shoots great.

I also have a FNP9 that I really like. It's a good gun if you want a polymer frame. Very light recoil.

September 4, 2007, 10:55 AM
CZ P-01 or an Springfield XD-9

September 4, 2007, 11:58 AM
Why does it have to look cool? Is it going to be a prop or are you going to use it as a gun? ;)

September 4, 2007, 12:02 PM
+ 1 on why does it need to look cool.

September 4, 2007, 12:06 PM
A used Sig 226 would be my serious recommendation.

September 4, 2007, 12:06 PM
Why not? I almost bought a Beretta just because it looked extremely cool. Nothing wrong with that IMO. I wouldn't buy a gun that is a POS just because it looks good of course. But there are a lot of pistols that work perfectly fine AND look good.

September 4, 2007, 12:16 PM
Isnt the CZ more or less a baby eagle??
Either way it has my vote

September 4, 2007, 01:41 PM
Yet another vote for a CZ. I have a new P-01, and so far its excellent.

The Baby Eagle's are in fact based on CZ 75's, not the other way around.

September 4, 2007, 01:53 PM
I would take a look at the Browning Hi-Power.

September 4, 2007, 02:37 PM
It has to look cool/tactical or I dunno, not plain. Im thinkin bout a mac 11. who needs rails when youve got 30 rounds on the go:D

September 4, 2007, 02:47 PM
MAC- 11?

I have officially lost interest in this thread.

September 4, 2007, 03:57 PM
Just bought a P-01 this year and has your accessory rail.

Very nice.:D:D:D

Average Joe
September 4, 2007, 05:12 PM
CZ"s always look cool, and shoot well too.

September 4, 2007, 05:48 PM
Another +1 on the CZ. For your price range you can get either the full-size SP-01 with rails or the P-01 compact (Glock 19 size) with rails as well. Either one is a steal at the low to mid-500 price tag, tremendous quality for the money.

CZ PO1s and PCRs have a retro european look to them. Very cool. Check them out.

September 4, 2007, 06:16 PM
For less than the cz and you stil get a badass gun Look at the EAA witness in Wonder finish. I have bot a CZ PCRD and a Witness 10mm, love em both probably my favorites(if there is such)

September 4, 2007, 07:54 PM
CZ or XD

September 4, 2007, 08:32 PM
I would suggest either a CZ P-01, a Sig P239 or a Beretta 92.

I purchased all three new for less than $600, they are all great shooters and very "cool."

A PT92 gets you a rail, a superior safety/decocking system, and a couple of hundred for ammo, though I'd still buy it if they were the same price.

September 4, 2007, 08:56 PM
Another vote for the PT92. A handsome, durable, reliable pistol with excellent ergonomics and a solid fit & finish. I like mine so much that I'll be adding a PT100 in .40 S&W at some near future point.

September 5, 2007, 03:12 AM
I would say the 24/7Pro would fit the bill

the color is off because I spend to much money on guns and ammo to buy a good camera hahaha

September 5, 2007, 06:28 AM
MPanova how do you like that 24/7? what caliber is that?

I'm thinking about letting that be the Taurus that changes my mind?

Dust Monkey
September 5, 2007, 06:31 AM
Easy. P99 or Beretta 92FS.

September 5, 2007, 09:56 AM
MAC-11? Gah.

September 5, 2007, 09:59 AM

You will not regret it.

September 5, 2007, 10:03 AM
PM me if oyu're interested in a Sig Sauer P225 9mm. It's used, but shoots great. $350. We can meet somewhere in between us here in the lone star state.

September 5, 2007, 12:00 PM
What he said^^^

Also, a 226 CPO is a good choice. I typically sell them for $495.

September 5, 2007, 12:43 PM
Beretta 92FS in INOX if you can find one; it looks GREAT, super reliable, very accurate and it's just a cool gun :)

September 5, 2007, 01:08 PM
Browning Pro 9

September 5, 2007, 03:09 PM
I'd recommend a used 226 because it's the nicest 9mm I've ever shot. That said the CZ 75b also looks really nice to me. I've just never shot one so I can't fully recommend it yet.

September 5, 2007, 03:32 PM
The local Sportsmans Warehouse has FNP-9s on sale for $420. A great price for a very nice 9mm (same gun as the Browning Pro 9). If you're anywhere near as Sportsmans Warehouse it might be worth checking to see if they have the same sale.

September 5, 2007, 04:00 PM
Sprinfield XD in a .40

I paid $449 for mine..it's cool, rail, and well worth the money. I also have a conversion barrel for both my XDs which downgrades them to 9mm from a .40

I'm at work so had to steal the duo-tone pic off springfields website being I dont have all my pictures on my work-puter

September 5, 2007, 04:04 PM
oh and I paid $500 for my duo-tone .40

all XDs come with the "GEAR PACKAGE" which is a two mag holder, speed loader, and holster. as well as lock cable and cleaning brush. Not that bad of a deal

September 5, 2007, 06:41 PM
If you haven't caught on yet, this guy's looking for a mall ninja/tactiCOOL Teddy gun, not a serious sidearm.

September 5, 2007, 06:46 PM

Water fights just got serious!

Take out your rivals with this "instant reload" water pistol.

The gun and magazines secure to your belt with the clips provided, allowing you to focus on soaking your target!

You will get for free:
- 2 extra magazines
- 3 belt clips.

September 5, 2007, 09:13 PM
Get a good used Browning HP and be done with it!

September 5, 2007, 09:41 PM
Springfield EMP.

Hmm...you probably can't find one for $600...sorry.

Oh, wait, it doesn't have a rail

Go the retro look AR.
Buy a Walther P38 or P1.
$300.00 buys you a cool and intimidating firearm, that will keep the groups under 2" at 25yds, and is built as well as any new 9mm made today.
I have one and like it better than my EAA Witness.

September 7, 2007, 06:59 AM
Check out the Taurus 24/7 Pro. I owned a 24/7 9mm (not a Pro) for about 3 years til I traded it yesterday. I purposely fired 700 plus rounds through it before cleaning. It hung up once , I ejected the round and fired another 50 or so through it. I gave it a good cleaning and it never hung up on me again. I like the 24/7 so much that I intend to purchase another one within the next few months. I found it to be very accurate and did well regardless of the ammo I fed through it (115-147 grain). I settled on 124. I purchased it new for $400 +.

September 7, 2007, 06:47 PM
i traded in my P225 for an XD-40 ... I REALLY like this XD. It's one of the nicest pistols I have ever shot

September 7, 2007, 08:23 PM
P7 all the way. No need for double action or single action when you have the Squeezec0ck :D

September 8, 2007, 01:49 AM
I never shoot a CZ but I vote for CZ75B.

I got one waiting for me at the gun shop.

And, I have two more CZ52s on order. One is chromed.:D

I'll never buy a DA auto again. But I am keeping my Sigma 9. Been a good gun.

September 8, 2007, 10:05 PM
I kept seeing all the posts on the czs and looked at the pictures and wondred why anybody in their right mind would consider it "cool":barf:, that is until I saw PPGMD's cz with the aluminum grips. Now thats a freaking awesome 9. Who would think that grips would make such a difference on a gun.

September 9, 2007, 03:20 PM
another vote for either of:
PT92, only gun I have that has never choked
Hi Power, great shooter, I am still testing my new one
CZ....going to get one this Sat. hopefully and will wring it out.

edited to add: I have tired the Sig and HK and fail to see the attraction

September 9, 2007, 03:26 PM
I almost bought a Beretta just because it looked extremely cool.

I've never seen such a Beretta...

September 9, 2007, 03:35 PM
^You've never seen a 92FS? ;)
