Yesterday I bought a new Benelli M2 shotgun. I have wanted one for a while, and I'm pleased with my purchase. It came in a nice box so that it can be carried and transported, complete with 5 different chokes that I can install. It also came with the tool to change the chokes, some shims to adjust the drop, and some oil (I mention this simply because every other shotgun I've ever owned came in a cardboard box, with no 'extras'). Mine has a 24 inch ribbed barrel, and I plan on using it to shoot skeet and to hunt with.

I had planned on going over to a friends place today to shoot some clay pigeons, but he got called into work, so I ended up going to a public range and putting 25 rounds of a 100 round 'value pack' of Winchester thru it. Mainly, I just wanted to go out and shoot my new gun, but the manual also states that it may require some break it before it "works perfectly with light target loads." I had no problems at all with mine, and recoil is very manageble. It's not at all like shooting my Stoeger double barrel coach gun.

Anyway, so far I have nothing but good things to say about it.

I am right on the fence about getting an M2 with the 'steady Grip', mostly for predator & turkey hunting. I don't feel the need for the 3.5" chamber. Any owners out there with opinions? thanks
