The new PPS looks excellent as a CCW. Any thoughts?

I found one on display just yesterday. I expected it to be a bit more compact, (PPK/S size). On paper maybe it is ...but it appeared to be P2000SK, Walther P99c sized only thinner. It was priced at $775. My H&K P7 looks to be the better weapon IMHO.

I like the Walther brand and have owned a PPK for about 10 years, but the market for compact 9mm polymer framed single stacks is getting crowded. The new PPS, which is 1.04 inches thick and holds 6 or 7 rounds in the magazine (depends on which magazine), is thicker than the competing Kahr P9, a similar gun that is 0.90 inches thick in the slide and only slightly more in the grip. I think I would wait and see how the PPS proves out in actual use before considering one.

Here is a photo of the PPS with a PPK overlaid on top of it:

6, 7, 8 is what I heard on them. Still haven't seen or handled one yet, though.

According to Mr. Lunde http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=31784&highlight=caliper&page=2 the actual thickness of the PPS is 0.91".
