View Full Version : Para Ordinance feedback

I am interested in a 1911 style pistol and ran across Para Ordinance's web page. I like that they are double stack magazince with high capacities, but havent heard good or bad about them. So, whats the consensus on these pistols, are they worth buying? Do they have issues with them out of the box? Any feedback is appreciated.

I owned a single stack LDA (cant remember the model). Fairly nice gun. Never had any real problems out of it. It only seemed to like para mags for some reason.

12 years and around 10,000 -12,000 rounds with 2 FTE / stovepipes that I attribute to cheap-o ammo (both same day same ammo). Other than that, my P-14 .45acp had eaten everything I've given it. Good accuracy, no complaints here. Grips and trigger are aftermarket.

I love my p12, I recently bought a used p14 with an issue but it looks like the factory is going to fix that for me. I plan on buying a carry 9 in the very near future too. I definetly like my Paras!! :D

He asked if the were worth buying also.
They cost a lot more then most 9mm and 45s in this area.
So what about prices?
I rarely see them in the shops used.

My only experience with a para was a compact one that kept jamming at a class. The guy who owned it finally borrowed an officer sized colt from the instructor. All was well after that.
