Can anyone tell me what the 19 in "9x19" stands for?
Thanks

The case length in millimetres; it's just a way of being able to tell the difference between all the different 9mms out there. Similarly, 7.62 NATO is known as 7.62x51, to separate it from 7.62x54, from 7.62x63, and so on.

9x17 is the size of the .380

9x18 is the size of the 9mm Makarov (actually it's 9.2x18) and

9x19 is the size of the 9mm Parabellum or Lugar.

Okay- the second number after the "X" is the case length in milimeters. So a 9 X19 is a 9mm diameter bullit in a 19mm long case
