I see the .223 SPS Tacticals on gunbroker.com sometimes. The .308 does not show up there too often. I have yet to see either in the local shops.

Has anyone had any luck finding these? Why are these so hard to find at the moment? My local gun shop is supposed to be tracking one down, but we shall see how it goes.

Found one! I found one through Guns America. The guy only had one left and he had a decent price on the thing. Apparently Remington is giving a $30 rebate on them too. Stupid California is going to make me wait 10 days to pick it up though.

What is the difference between the Tactical SPS and the Varmint SPS? Are they the same thing? I have never heard of the Tactical.

I picked one of these up a few days ago in CT in .308, paid $650, stuff is alot cheaper in FL heh.

http://www.snipercentral.com/spstactical.htm

Has a little more information on this rifle.

The only down side, or difference from the 700p I believe is the stock, also half -sized Aluminum pillars not full like on the 700p, and if you use a bi pod, or any type of shooting bag, you'll lose the free float at the front. 20" barrel also, and price of course, trigger maybe too.

For the scope, I had gotten one of these also, Simmons Whitetail Classic Scope 6.5-20x 50mm Adjustable Objective Truplex Reticle Matte from Midwayusa.com for $100 on sale, reg, $200ish.
Pretty good for the price.. Hopefully its not defective (like people were leaving reviews) or anything though. It seems good to go thou. no blurriness, full clearness at max power.

And atm I'm just using brand name weaver bases, and matte rings. Gotta pick up some ammo thou still and do some zeroing, and barrel brake in! :D
