It is chambered in .44 Magnum. Wow - it is one nice gun.

I picked it up private sale for $250.

You just made yourself a verrrrry nice purchase...
Sold several of them recently, and got nothing less than $500 for them..:)

a Rossi lever gun in .44.
It is a fun gun. Shares ammo with the Redhawk and Vaquero.
It is hard to imagine a circumstance (other than target shooting) that would require more than 11 rounds of .44 mag.

My FIL has several 94s....a couple of which are saddle ring carbines.

A couple of the 94s are pre-1920 guns that have, as I recall, octagonal barrels.

Here's a tip for you on the .44mag.

Remove the screw from the front barrel band and give it a shot of Lock Tite.
Make sure you check it often when shooting.

The one on my .44mag 94 loosened up and sheared off.

I'll agree with SOSARMS as you bought a very nice rifle at a great price. I've seen beaten up 94s in 44 mag sell for more than $250. Congratulations.

I just got one too, but cost a couple hundred more!

$250 for that carbine? Talk about instant equity -- you could probably turn around and sell it for double! Nice find.

I love my Henry 45LC -- had it for a couple years and still have not shot it. Cowboy Edition.
