i like crack barrel guns. i have a rossi .22 crack barrel and like it. i want to know if the high power rossi rifles are about as accurate as a bolt rifle and if the recoil of a 30-06 rossi is really bad or what. im thinking about the new rossi heavy barrel in .243 here:

I'm pretty sure that firing a gun with a cracked barrel is a BAD!!! idea...

I don't have too much experience with Rossi single shots but have a couple H&R single shot rifles and they are very accurate. A 30-06 single shot is going to have more felt recoil then what a bolt-action rifle will have.

I think he meant single-shot break-barrel rifles.

I don't get the idea, is there any kind of barrels called "Crack" or is the barrel on the gun You mentioned cracked by some accident? I own two Rossi leve Actions in 38 spl. and 357. for which I reload. You're leaving me wondering!
